Project Aims

  

What is the overall aim of the project? 

 

 

Project Justification 

Why is the project necessary? What do you want to improve? How will this project introduce new /  extend your knowledge or skills? Will the project help you with your progression plans? Is this a personal  interest?  

 

 

Project Objectives 

What do you want to accomplish? What new skills do you want to learn? What do you want to explore? State at least two objectives.

Existing Skills  

What existing skills will you need to use? How will you go about  developing these skills? Who will you need to help you with this?

What research will you need to do? Is this achievable within your timeframe? Do you have access to the  required research sources? How will you organise your research? How will this research inform your  project?

Primary Research 

Methods you will use to collect information yourself. For example, visiting a location, interviews, surveys,  focus groups, skill development, practical exploration, and observations. 

​

Secondary Research  

What existing research sources will you access? For example, books, magazines, data, websites,  historical records, news articles and journals.  

​

Additional Research  

Is there any other research that could be considered? Are there any opportunities to conduct  experimental research? 

 

Resources 

 

What resources will you need for your project? Do you have access to these already? How will you use  and manage resources? Are there any resource implications such as locations, time, costs, copyright? 

​

Examples: photographs, video footage, libraires (physical and online), hardware, software, specialist  equipment, new technologies, rehearsal space, venues, studio space and human resources. 

​

Other considerations 

Are there any health and safety considerations? Do you need to consider any copyright requirements?  Do you need to conduct a risk assessment? Are there any ethical, equality, inclusivity, diversity,  environmental or sustainability issues to consider? 

​

Budget 

Does your project require a budget? How will you plan and manage your costs? 

​

Management and Review 

​

How will you manage the stages of the project and review the outcome in relation to your intentions? How will you monitor and review your own performance? 

 

What key stages will your project move through in order to realise your aims and objectives? What methods will you use to manage the progress of your project? 

 

What methods will you use to evaluate the success of your project?  

 

Timeframe

List all milestones and activities to be carried out during the project and the order these will take place.  

​

Create a table with all the activities listed, and dates, and a checkbox to tick off.

​

You are able to create and use your own project plans that meet your needs and the needs of your  project. Please make sure that any additional evidence is included in your portfolio of evidence for  assessment.  

 

Don’t forget to include a time plan or project plan with your proposal to show the detail of how and when  you will meet your identified milestones.
