Presenting to an audience

This section of the FMP is about you doing further work to judge the effectiveness of your project by reaching an audience.

There are different ways of getting marks for this:

Send work to various people for feedback
Put work on a platform like YouTube (considering implications of private vs public)
Do a survey on rough cut or final cut, reviewing and reflecting on both the questions you would find useful to ask, and the answers themselves.
Presenting work on the blog is another appropriate form of presentation. It may well be better to create a new blog for this.

Have a think about how will you reach your audience?

Firstly you need to know who your audience is (Proposal).
TASK
Clarify again here, stating if it's changed.

Now you have made a large part of your project can you ask people in your audience what they think of it? Or what they think of any elements you can present.
TASK
Explore strategies to reach your audience: where else could you present your final piece that isn't just asking friends?

Maybe itch.io film festivals Vimeo YouTube etc etc?
Evaluate each, why might one be better than another?

We are not asking your opinion, we are asking for evidence.

Do similar products to yours exist on YouTube?
Evidence your exploration of the places where you could put your work.

Compare different places, eg YouTube vs Tiktok (or other).
Which is best?

Compare a few - evidence what you see?

Evaluate which are the best platforms to reach your audience.

You should make sure you have a pen portrait and clear target audience
Having done a pen portrait may help you know who the audience the product is for.

TASK

Now - try it! Evidence actually putting your work out there. How many views do you get?
Was that a good platform or not? Evaluate your findings.

TASK

Are there any other methods that people use to present their work? How do companies do it? It might be that they release teaser trailers, teaser posters, interviews with stars, and so on. These are potentially good methods of building an audience so that you can get feedback on how your final piece might be received.
